Rakena Golden, B.A., Lower School

Ms. Golden earned a B.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis at Savannah State University and is a Registered Behavior Technician. Ms. Golden is also completing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her certification in elementary education.


Frank Hunter, M.A.T., ELA & Social Studies

Mr. Hunter earned a M.A.T., at Mercer University and an M.A., in Communication. He graduated with a B.A. from Georgia State University in Speech. Mr. Hunter is certified in English Language Arts (E.L.A.) and Social Studies and has taught at Piedmont for three years.


Brian Jones, M.S., Science

Mr. Jones earned an M.S. in Science at the University of West Georgia. The B.A. was completed in middle school education at Mercer University. His certifications include science education, gifted education, and educational leadership. He has more than thirty years of experience in teaching.


Ta' Cheryl Lemon, B.F.A., Lower School

Ms. Lemon graduated from the University of Texas, Austin. She is currently completing a Master's in Educational Psychology and her certification in elementary education.


Josh Maley, M.A.T., Social Studies & Mathematics

Mr. Maley earned a M.A.T. at Mercer University and graduated with a B.A. from Oglethorpe University. He is certified in Social Studies and Mathematics. Mr. Maley has taught at Piedmont for five years, and interned for two years before joining the faculty.


Catherine Trapani, Ph.D., BCBA, Head Of School

Dr. Trapani was a founding board member of The Piedmont School of Atlanta. She received the doctorate from The University of Wisconsin-Madison and a postdoctoral fellowship in developmental pediatrics at The Kennedy Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Trapani is a certified behavior analyst (Penn State University). She is also certified in educational leadership, social studies, and special and elementary education. She has more than forty years experience working with children with special needs.
